Hauppauge , NY Santinelli International has recently introduced the ME-1000 DESIGN+ Multifunction Edger. This up-grade to the company's ME-1000 edger features exclusive Lens Facet and Partial Grooving functions, enabling eye care practitioners to expand, create, and customize rimless eyewear.
With the new ME-1000 DESIGN+, highly fashionable facet processing is applied to the lens outline, providing a jewel-like finish. A user-friendly touch panel provides quick and intuitive operation of the Lens Facet function. Both front and rear facets are available, and the facet amount and width are easily set by the operator. A sophisticated 3-D simulation of the lens is provided on the unit's touch panel, conveying visual confirmation of the result prior to actual processing.
The unit's Partial Grooving function creates a sophisticated design and attractive look by applying a partial groove to the lens. This area of the lens can then be colored, accentuating the contour. Alternatively, the groove width and depth can be partially altered, making the groove in which the nylon cord sits, barely noticeable.
Also unique to the ME-1000 DESIGN+ is its tab style LCD screen, which displays the unit's various functions. In turn, the hole function tab displays the various hole types, such as twin holes, jewel holes (3 different styles), hole & notch, and countersunk holes. This user-friendly screen allows the operator to easily place desired holes on the lens by a simple drag & drop maneuver.
