Trio of Industry Leaders Join Forces
Hauppauge, NY- In an unprecedented effort
to resolve a myriad of complex machinery, software and
user issues within the optical industry, Santinelli International,
Digital Vision Inc. (DVI) and Sutherlin Optical met last
week for a 3-Day symposium at DVI's headquarters in Portland,
OR. The result was the identification
and resolution of interface functions that have recently
challenged equipment vendors, software providers and
wholesale labs alike.
Detailed data transfer, 3-D tracing and sizing, left and right eye measuring
and edging were among the key topics addressed and resolved. Effectively,
this represents a significant investment on behalf of these companies
and is a true indication of their commitment to the industry.
Although the VCA Interface Protocol represents many options and provides
several opportunities, detailing actual and deep understandings of exactly
how lens edging equipment works and interacts with software will prove
extremely beneficial for labs now and in the future. The endeavor could
never have happened without the insight, dedication and leadership of
