Tracer Configuration Utility

This page will instruct you how to create Visionweb files with your LT-900 tracer using the NIDEK/Visionweb Converter. NOTE: You must have firmware V2.04a, or higher, configured with the VCA protocol. To confirm the tracer is configured correctly, download the Tracer Configuration Utility above.

Installing the Tracer Configuration Utility
1. Click the Tracer Configuration Utility link above.
2. Save the file (LEDJ10_E.ZIP) to a temporary folder on your computer.
3. Extract all the files into the same temporary folder.
4. Run SETUP.EXE. Install Shield will appear.
5. Enter Name and Company.
6. Click Next. Choose Destination Location will appear.
7. Click Next. Select Program Folder will appear.
8. Click Next. Start Coping Files will appear.
9. Click Next. Install Shield will install the utility and Setup Complete will appear.
10. Check the box Launch the Program File.
11. Click Finish. Tracer Utility will appear.
 
Using the Tracer Configuration Utility
1. Connect a Null-Modem/RS-232 cable (supplied with tracer) to the Computer port on the back of the tracer.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to a free com port on the back of the computer.
NOTE: if there are more than one com ports, note which one you used.
3. Power on the tracer.
4. Start the Tracer Utility (default install location: C:\NIDEK\LE-9000\TRUTY_E.EXE). The Tracer Utility will appear.
5. If there are more than one com ports on your computer, select the correct one in the Port field
6. Click Apply.
7. On the command menu at the top of the screen, click Receive\Version #. The Tracer Utility box will appear displaying the current tracer version number.
IMPORTANT: If version number is less than 2.04a, please contact our tech support at 800-644-3343 and request a software upgrade for an LT-900.
8. Click File\Parameter Adjustment. Manual Parameter Adjustment will appear.
9. Confirm Protocol is set to VCA.
10. Click OK.
11. Click Close. The tracer will emit a beep sound, indicating the change has been accepted.
12. Close the Tracer Utility.

 

Santinelli-NIDEK/Visionweb Converter  

Installing Santinelli-NIDEK/Visionweb Converter
To create a Visionweb trace file to import to a Visionweb order, you must first install the Santinelli-Nidek/Visionweb Converter software on your computer.
1. Click Santinelli-NIDEK/Visionweb Converter link above and save the file to a temporary folder your computer.
2. Run Setup.exe. Visionweb Converter Install Shield wizard will appear.
3. Click Next.
4. Enter Username and Organization information.
5. Click Next. Destination folder will appear.
6. Click Next. Ready to install will appear.
7. Click Next. The converter will install onto your computer.
8. When Install Shield is complete, click Finish.
 
Configuring the Santinelli-NIDEK/Visionweb Converter
Before you can start creating Visionweb files, you must configure the Santinelli-NIDEK\Visionweb Converter.
1. Click the Visionweb Converter icon on the desktop. NIDEK/Visionweb Converter will appear.
2. The default location for your files is C:\PROGRAM FILES\NIDEK\VWCONV. If you want to change the default location, click Settings\Export Folder and select another location.
3. Click Setting\Com Port. VCA Options will appear.
4. Check the com port where you connected the tracer on your computer.
5. Click OK. VW Converter will close.
6. Restart Visionweb Converter.
7. Click Format\XML. Waiting... will appear in the command window indicating the system is ready.
 
Creating a Visionweb File
Before you create a file, you must setup the converter with frame, layout and edge information. This information will be used to create the file after the tracer has finished tracing.
1. Click ?Frame Type?. Plastic, Metal Pattern will appear on the sub-menu.
2. Select which frame type will be traced.
NOTE: If you want to trace a pattern, enter DBL or FPD measurement in the DBL menu.
3. Click ?Edge Type?. Bevel, rimless, Groove will appear on the sub-menu.
4. Select which edge type is required.
5. Place the frame in the tracer.
6. Press the main trace key. The tracer will begin tracing. When the tracer has finished, Communicating... will appear in the command window. When the command reads Waiting..., the file has been written to the designated export folder.
